This is a Dominoni brand Direct Cut Head model MPD 760 and it is 25 feet wide. It is used for cover crops, cereal grains, barley, oats, wheat as well as drought corn or stalks. It is well known for its large feeding drum and can outperform any other direct cut head on the market today. This head has a floating frame with wheels on bearings it is a solid frame with the auger bed being wear-resistant steel. Its big feeding channel is hydraulically adjustable from the drivers seat. The head is able to cut very close to the ground. Simplicity, Reliability and Strength are the main qualities of this direct cut mower.

Kooima Ag® is working on making adjustments to this header to allow it to chop stalks.

Direct cut your rye. Spray your rye before cutting it down, control when you cut your rye with RoundUp. This saves you money in your harvest operation. (After spraying your rye with RoundUp, wait 30 hours before harvesting it.)

This head will fit John Deere® 8000 and 9000 series forage harvesters.

Direct Cut Heads

We bought 2 Domai MPD-612 (20FT) Direct Cut Heads in July 2020
Well Designed, great performance and very reliable. We run these on John Deere7180 & New Holland FR650 with the Adaptor kits They can be swapped in 30 minutes, that way one header can fit any machine. Have had no issues except the normal, belts, chains and knives. After 3 years due to wear we are replacing the turtles for the first time for our 2024 harvest. We harvest Barley , Wheat & Alfalfa about 5000 acres Spring & Fall. These are Great Reliable Headers.
Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction from a Cappello. Bought 2 in 2018 after the first month of operation started having issues with gear boxs that drive the cutter bed, Then issues with the cutter beds. Just a constant fight trying to keep them going. After a year and warranty was up and no Support I mean None. Only had 300hrs on one and 240 on the other they are still in the bone yard waiting for when the scraper comes. In the mean time we purchased a used well worn Zurn 620 Direct Cut Head to help get us through the season.
The Zurn is a good well designed and reliable header as well. The down fall for us is you cannot change it between machine brands as their is no adaptor kit. IF you buy a Zurn for a John Deere then it will only Fit a John Deere. We are still running The Zurn today on John Deere 6850.
The best bang for your buck is the Domai!
