Right Hand Forage Harvester Corn Knife

The K84450405 is a right-hand corn knife designed to fit New Holland® FR series forage harvesters. This knife plays a vital role in the cutting process, working with the shearbar to efficiently chop forage into small, digestible pieces for livestock.

Key Features:

Manufactured in Iowa, this knife is heat-treated and tungsten hard-faced, ensuring long-lasting durability under heavy use. It features a sharp edge for a precise fit in New Holland® forage harvesters, delivering consistent and efficient cutting performance. The intense cutting angle allows for easier material processing but may be more prone to chipping in rocky conditions. This knife is recommended for silage and earlage cutting only.

Installation & Compatibility:

• Fits all FR series harvesters.
• Install following factory settings and torque bolts to recommended specifications.
• Requires bolt K87517126 or K84450505 when using baffles (K87368863) to protect the cutter drum (5 bolts per knife).
• 10 knives required for a 20-knife drum; 12 knives required for a 24-knife drum.
• Left-hand corn knife option: K84450404.
• Grass knife options: K84450406 and K84450407, ideal for pickup work such as chopping hay, alfalfa, winter wheat, and cover crops.

Replacement Guidelines:

Replace the knife when heavy chipping leads to a longer cut length or when the tungsten carbide edge is worn down. Regular visual inspection helps maintain optimal cutting efficiency.
